OUR BACKGROUND - THE YPSILON ERA

"Demetris Backlavas and I have known each other since the eighties', as university students. Demetris was studying electronics and I was studying civil engineering (NTUA). Demetris was already a skilled analog designer focused on amplifiers. I was a DIYer, building amplifiers and speakers. Hi-Fi, our mutual hobby, brought us together as friends...

Our aspiration is to craft unique a-typical High End loudspeakers, to enjoy the musical reproduction as natural as possible. Listen and fall in love with music. Again.

Our brand is inspired by the dominance of Matter in the Universe. Matter's duality is ever-present, as either energy or mass, so wave or particle. Our logo visualizes a wave-particle.

MATTER is the greek sole representative of internationally renowned brands with selected High End products, like "Artesania Audio" (ES, High End racks and furniture) and WAND-"DesignBuildListen" (NZ, tonearms, turntables, accessories etc.).

The "Anti-MATTER" is a High End 3-way low mass dipole loudspeaker, suitable for spaces up to 100 sq.m. Qualities: Accurate tones, transparency, impressive bass, subtle and defined trebles and very open soundstage.
